We made it through the holidays.....it wasn't an easy task that is for sure! My Bug was so sick from 2 days before Christmas until just after the New Year....then I was sick for a week after that! I am proud to say however, that we have made it 2 weeks and counting without getting sick (knock on wood)! Even with the sickness plaguing us, I think that all in all it was a great Holiday Season!
All of the up and downs that we have been experiencing makes me realize that everything I do is all for my Bug! We are working on the aspect of being away from one another over night. I normally would not like this at all, but my job requires me to travel on occasion and instead of having a "traveling grandma", I figured if we could get used to being away from one another overnight, then it would be much easier in the long run. It is going great! We have tested it two nights so far and Arleigh loves it. In fact, I think that she has no problem what so ever! Me on the other hand, I am not a fan! I love having Arleigh wake me up in the morning! After all her beautiful face is why I am here! It is nice to be able to have some free time. I think it keeps me on a certain level of sanity, but I still miss her like CRAZY when we are apart! However, Arleigh doesn't even seem to notice that I am gone....tear...sad I know! This past weekend she spent one night with Nana and Papa. When I got there to get her she acted like I didn't even exist! She is just so busy, I don't think that she has time to miss me! At least that is what I am going to keep telling myself! I know that it is really because my little girl is growing up! We are working on the potty training thing! She is very interested in being a big girl, but not quite up for the challenge that being a big girl entails! She likes to go potty, but just doesn't think that she should have to stop playing all the time in order to do that. We will get there....I am not that worried about it yet! As she grows, I miss the little baby that I brought home but I get excited about all the fun little adventures that her and I will get to experience.
Her Papa and Nana took her and I to Chuck E. Cheese, and I kept telling them that she was too little to really enjoy it. Well leave it to my daughter to prove me wrong! She had a blast! I think that her and Papa would move there if Nana and Mommy would allow it! They rode rides and just enjoyed each other. My mom and I were on a mission! We wanted to win Alreigh so many tickets so that she could get an epic prize! Well, we didn't really succeed! She ended up getting some candy and a miniature blow up guitar, but Arleigh had fun and that was all that really mattered!
I get to take my Bug to the aquarium in March and I know that she will love it! She was mesmerized by my Mom's fish tank! That was when it still had fish....a few died...and then my Mom became foster parent to a wild and mean fish that decided to eat the last remaining fish! It was kinda sad! I think that Arleigh knows that the wild fish isn't very nice! I don't see as much excitement over the fish tank anymore. She will love the aquarium though! I am so happy that I get to give my girly all of these fun experiences! I am so proud of her in so many ways! She can count to 3! She has better manners then most kids running around these days, and she is only 16 months old! She says "please", "thank you", and "your welcome"! She even uses them all at the correct times! We are working on he ABC's and she can get to D so that makes me proud! Most of all though, I am proud of her because she is her own person! She is becoming so independent, caring, responsible, and just all around happy! She does things that I wouldn't normally think someone as young as her would do. She tries to feed my brother's puppy all by herself, she attempts to pick up her toys, and she likes to try to sweep the kitchen! She makes me so happy and that is why I know that no matter what, everything I do will always be all for Arleigh!
Until next time.....
Crystal
